Weather

Okay, I'm taking a break from the basement. That's the beauty of working for yourself, you set the schedule. Problem is I never seem to get a day off. Anyone that happened to be awake around 1:15am here in central Alberta, heard the thunderstorm roll through. Now, I'm a big fan of weather. Extreme weather. Must have something to do with my parents being storm chasers when I was very little. I like taking pics of weather. My family thinks mom's a little odd when I'm hanging out the bedroom window to get pics like this.

Lightening is my favorite but difficult to photograph. Until I discovered my little camera takes video and my little laptop will take a still from the video. Much easier these days. Unfortunatly, I didn't see any good strikes last night. This pic is from last year, the only good storm we had.
This one I took a few years back while hanging out the kitchen window. Storms have rain and my digital camera is not water proof, thus the hanging out the window.

I also like snow (took this one on my cell driving to work one morning)
and frost
and sunsets

and fog

and wind

I even got a tornado once.

While looking through my albums for these few pics I was amazed at how many weather related photos I have accumulated in 5 years. That's how long I've had my camera. I guess that's why I'll stay here in Alberta, lots of weather. Haha.

  1. I love storms! I'm the kind of person that'll stare at a tornado, instead of running for cover. But then, if s tornado is coming at you, you can't do much, anyways.

Also, I didn't know you had a blog. Cool.

  2. wow! Awesome photo's! looks like you inherited your fathers talent for photography too. Uncle and i chased a storm from our place and it ended up chasing us to Sylvan where we hid in the car wash bay because we knew that the golf ball size hail was coming. They didn't get it as bad as some areas just a mile from our place. Our garden was spared. Yay! But...it was fun anyways.
